Spring 2023 Magazine
As we close out our celebration of one hundred years of Catholic chaplaincy at Yale, this issue of STM Magazine highlights the significant moments of our recent history and how they've helped shape the mission of our ministry. In a nod to the future, the STM Assistant Chaplains share their thoughts on Catholic campus ministry framed by the outcomes of Phase I of the Synod on Synodality.
Glancing through the pages, you may notice the significant role that photos play in this issue. As we move into the last twenty-five years of our history, photography becomes one of the main ways we capture memories and remember STM’s history. Robert Lisak '81 M.F.A., who has photographed STM for four decades, shares his favorite photos over the years and the stories behind them. We’ve also included the photo diaries of students documenting their Alternative Spring Break experiences, as well as photos showcasing little-known architectural details of The Thomas E. Golden, Jr. Center.
We hope that this issue of STM Magazine will serve as a reminder of the rich history and legacy that have made Yale's Catholic community what it is today. It has been an honor to share and remember these moments with you this year.
