As we enter the second century of Catholic chaplaincy at Yale, we proudly award the inaugural
Saint Thomas More Medal to the Honorable Guido Calabresi. A legal and educational luminary, he
has excelled as Dean and Sterling Professor at Yale Law School, a United States Circuit Judge,
and a devoted STM community member.
This year holds special significance, with the release of his biography, Outside In: The Oral History
of Guido Calabresi (Oxford University Press, 2023). Celebrating his 70th reunion with the Class
of '53 and receiving an Honorary Doctor of Laws from Yale University, his impact resonates.
With deep respect, STM recognizes Judge Calabresi's remarkable contributions by bestowing
upon him the Saint Thomas More Medal.
