Meet the Chaplains

Chaplains

 

Fr. Joseph MacNeill

Fr. MacNeill first heard the call to the priesthood in high school and entered the seminary for the Archdiocese of Hartford after graduating with a B.A. in Classics and Catholic Studies from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Seminary studies in philosophy and theology took him to Theological College and the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC and ultimately to Rome, where he completed an S.T.B. at the Pontifical Gregorian University and an S.T.L. in Theology and Patristic Sciences at the Pontifical Patristics Institute. Fr. MacNeill has served in various pastoral assignments as a deacon and priest in West Simsbury, Manchester, Waterbury, Enfield, and – most recently – as parochial vicar of Blessed Michael McGivney Parish in New Haven. A lifelong musician, he also enjoys traveling and all things fitness. joseph.macneill@yale.edu

Fr. Greg Waldrop, S.J.

Fr. Greg comes from a long line of Texans and grew up in Dallas. He graduated with a B.A. in English from Yale (Branford College) in 1984 and, after a year as a lay volunteer in Peru, completed a master’s in journalism at Northwestern. In 1989 he entered the Society of Jesus at Grand Coteau, Louisiana. Jesuit formation took him to New Orleans, Tampa, Rome, and Boston, before his ordination to the priesthood in 1999. An art historian, Fr. Greg earned his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, with a focus on the Italian Renaissance, and has taught at Fordham University in New York and Loyola University New Orleans. An avid reader, he enjoys traveling and cooking.

Allan Esteron

 

Allan Esteron

Allan is a native of the Philippines. He earned his M.A. in Religious Education from Fordham University and a BA in Philosophy from Saint Francis Major Seminary, Philippines. While in the Philippines, he was a lecturer, retreat facilitator, and campus minister. At STM, he leads the graduate ministry, STM Soup Kitchen, multicultural ministries (Asian, AfAm, LGBTQ+), Yale's Catholic Relief Services Chapter, Solidarity in the City, refugee resettlement, and ESTEEM. Allan lives in Milford with wife Donna and their two children. When not at STM, he enjoys playing guitar, beach outings, hiking, and table tennis. Allan is always eager to connect with students. Pauline

 

Pauline Little

Pauline was born in the Philippines and grew up in the West Coast. She has worked in campus ministry at DePaul, Loyola Chicago and Fordham. Most recently she spent five years as a clinical chaplain at Yale Hospital. She earned a Masters in Pastoral Ministry from the University of Dayton and is a board-certified chaplain with the National Association of Catholic Chaplains. At STM, Pauline leads the graduate ministry, reading groups, Confirmation, Solidarity in the City, and accompanies students on ASB trips. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Brent, reading at coffeeshops, visiting family in Chicago, traveling, hiking, and listening to podcasts. Contact pauline.little@yale.edu.

Sr. Mary Rose Irvine

Sister Mary Rose hails from the great state of Nebraska in the Heartland of the U.S. There she earned a B.A. in social work at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and first encountered consecrated religious life. She moved to Connecticut in 2018 to begin formation with the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist. After receiving the habit, Sister Mary Rose was missioned to Saint Bridget of Sweden Parish in Cheshire, CT to serve as Pastoral Associate. Now at STM, she serves as Assistant Chaplain to the undergraduates. Outside of the office, Sister Mary Rose enjoys time with her Sisters, working the machines on the land, studying, and sewing. Damon McGraw

Damon is from the Washington, D.C. region. He was received into the Catholic Church at STM under the guidance of Fr. Bob Beloin while pursuing his Master of Arts in Religion at Yale Divinity School. He earned his Ph.D. in Theology at the University of Notre Dame. He previously served as an educator and in campus ministry for students at Notre Dame and Duquesne University and for seniors at The Academy of the Holy Cross and Georgetown Preparatory School. Damon just moved to East Rock and is excited to be back at STM accompanying undergraduates. He loves to explore new places, spend time in nature, lift weights, meditate, read widely, and have deep conversations. Contact damon.mcgraw@yale.edu
